Getting Started at Ledger.com/start
Setting up your hardware wallet begins by visiting ledger.com/start, the ONLY legitimate starting point for initializing your Ledger Nano device. Follow the official onboarding steps to avoid phishing websites and ensure your device is genuine .
Step 1: Visit and Download Ledger Live
Navigate directly to ledger.com/start, download Ledger Live for your platform, and avoid unauthorized mirrors or redirectors .
Step 2: Setup Your Device
Unbox, power up your Ledger Nano S Plus or Nano X, choose “set up as a new device,” pick a PIN, and write down your 24‑word recovery phrase—always offline and never shared .
Step 3: Pair and Add Accounts
Open Ledger Live, connect your device, install apps for chosen cryptocurrencies, and create accounts—confirmed on the device side for maximum security .
Logging In and Logging Out
Logging In
Ledger Live doesn’t require server authentication—access is gated by your physical device plus the password lock you can enable under Settings → General. It adds a passphrase when reopening the app .
Logging Out
There’s no traditional “sign‑out” button. To clear local data, go to Settings → Help → Reset Ledger Live—this removes accounts, history, and settings, effectively logging you out . Alternatively, uninstalling the app removes traces entirely.
Security Best Practices

Only visit ledger.com/start—never enter your recovery phrase anywhere else. Ledger will never ask for it online .
